Our Story

A place of worship, fellowship and faith since 1843

Our Heritage

Faithful through generations

Ash Chapel has been part of the local community since 1843. Across generations, the chapel has remained a place of worship, prayer, fellowship and service for New Ash Green, Hartley, Fawkham and the surrounding areas.

This page gives a shorter and more welcoming overview of our story. For those who would like to read the full historical account, the complete chapel history is still available at the bottom of this page.

Our Journey

A short overview of Ash Chapel’s heritage and continuing life today

1843

Chapel Founded

Ash Chapel was registered as a place of worship in 1843 and began as a small chapel serving the local area. From the beginning, it was a place where people gathered to hear God’s Word and worship together.

1889

The Brick Chapel Building

The present brick chapel building was constructed in 1889. It became a lasting home for worship, fellowship, teaching and local Christian witness.

1900s

Community Life

Over the years, the chapel became known for Sunday school, annual gatherings, fellowship meetings and local community involvement. Families and leaders gave their time and care to help the chapel serve each generation.

Today

A Living Fellowship

Ash Chapel continues as a Bible-believing, Holy Spirit-led fellowship. We welcome people of all backgrounds to join us for worship, prayer, teaching, encouragement and community.
